On August 14, 2002, the U.S. Department of Transportation issued a Final Rule that regulates diagnostic specimen shipments for the first time in the United States.  The rule is listed immediately below.









On December 19, 2002, the U.S. Postal Service published a proposal to align the postal service regulations for mailing of infectious substances, diagnostic specimens, and other materials with the new U.S. DOT rules (HM226).  The proposed rule change is located immediately below this announcement.



On July 12, 2002, the U.S. Department of Transportation issued a Final Rule establishing the new retention period for dangerous goods disclosure documentation by shippers & carriers.  Please see the link below for details!
